That is the point. Just because someone has a degree, it doesn’t mean that you blindly accept what they say as truth. Or, just because something is in a textbook, doesn’t mean that it is indisputable.

I don’t know that the scientists are intentionally lying to us. Without intention, they would have no motive. They just believed the lie.

I didn’t find the illustration too useful. If the point was to teach me to be incredulous about degrees and qualifications, I’m left an agnostic–why is his degree (or Ham’s for that matter) more credible than anyone else’s? If his point is that scientists are lying to us, he left out the motive.
